Bill brings 10+ years of business management and fitness training experience to Catalyst Fitness, which manifests itself in the personal success stories of countless clients and companies.
Bill holds a Masters degree in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention along with advanced credentials as a Performance Enhancement Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and an IDEA® Master Trainer; he is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE). He is also a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Medical Fitness Association (MFA) and both a media representative and "Fly Solo" Mentor for the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In addition, Bill has professional experience as a CDC Research Scientist and a strong academic background in Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, and Biochemistry. His scientific understanding of the human body, with its unique composition and chemistry, lends itself well to a logical approach to individual fitness training.
Although science is the foundation of Catalyst Fitness's approach to fitness and the basis for the remarkable results of the company's clients, Bill also understands that there is an art to working with people. Catalyst Fitness's underlying philosophy is synthesizing the art and the science of fitness.
Bill is a long-time fitness advocate and a former member of the U. S. National Wrestling Team. He has earned incredible personal results, participating and winning national-level bodybuilding competitions. His personal success, passion for life-long fitness, client care and concern, and overall enthusiasm provide Bill the unique ability to bring out the best in Catalyst Fitness clients.
When working with clients, Bill focuses on two key areas: a proper Kinetic Chain Assessment--assessing the combination and interrelation of the nervous, muscular, and skeletal systems, thus ensuring optimal and efficient human movement-- and Functional Training --a training model that involves exercises specifically designed to improve a client's performance of activities inside and outside the training environment, including specific movements involved in work, sports or other activities of daily life.
"If one component of the Kinetic Chain is not working properly, the client's movement is ultimately effected. A Kinetic Chain Assessment helps to provide the information I need to design an exercise program which meets the musculoskeletal needs of each client."
Educating his clients sets him apart from other trainers. "A lot of trainers don't want to impart too much information to their clients for fear the client will leave them and train on their own. But, I’ve never lost a client because I've taught them too much". Once clients achieve their goals with Bill, they're hooked. They either set new goals or continuously check in for periodic program updates.
Elizabeth, received her Master's of Science in Exercise Science from Georgia State University and is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine. She has had the opportunity of working with various populations, including cardiac rehabilitation and children. She enjoys pushing her clients to give that "little extra" and encourage them to challenge their perceived abilities.
Always involved in various physical activities, Elizabeth came to appreciate the value of a workout as a stress reliever. During that time she discovered the amazing capabilities of the human body and found her love for health, wellness, and fitness. She is currently working on her certifications through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American Council on Exercise.
Elizabeth is excited about joining the Catalyst Fitness team and the opportunity to help clients achieve their goals, while learning their true potential.
